Scan & Upload Instruction

(The instructions provided below are typical for most home scanners).

1 Prepare the photo for scanning

  • Remove the photo from any plastic  covering and wipe both the photo and the scanner glass with a soft, lint-free cloth so that we don't have to digitally remove lint later. This will reduce the cost of the restoration work. Place the Photo in the middle of the glass and close the cover. Do not Place the photo in the document as this may harm the photo.

  • Place the Photo on the scanner glass.

  • Scan the image at highest available resolution. Ideally 600 dpi (dots per inch) or more.

  • Save the Photo on your computer desktop so you can find it to upload.

2) Using your Camera

Send us photos using your Mobile Camera/DSLR or any other Point and shoot Cameras conveniently.

  • Bring the old printed photograph under any bright light source and place it on a flat and even surface.

  • Take a picture with a proper lighting and exposure settings in your camera. Try to avoid camera shake to get a sharply focused image.

  • Make certain that you don’t have any reflection while photographing. Reflections are really difficult to edit out of an image. Glossy paper reflects too much. It is ideal having indirect light. Otherwise you can Position your camera and take picture at some angle so that the reflection could be avoided (Avoid too much tilting). We will adjust the distortion or the perspective.

  • Make sure your shadow itself doesn’t fall right over the image while taking the photograph.

  • Save the Photo on your computer desktop so you can find it to upload.
